Gerd Sommerlade
Responsible for our current collection is the Hamburg-based designer Gerd Sommerlade. Before our collaboration began in the summer of 2006, he worked, among other things, in "trend consulting" for the Rosenthal brand, designed an international advertising campaign for the textile company JAB and developed anniversary decors for Arzberg's 75th anniversary mold "1382". One focus of his work for the Reichenbach porcelain manufactory is the "rediscovery" of the historical figurine treasure. Thus, he has reinterpreted the classic figure of the guard officer in the "PEACE" collection.
A masterpiece of craftsmanship is the collection "COLOUR". Here, the color is dabbed on by hand, making each piece unique. Finally, the decor is ennobled by an elaborate gold decoration. For the colorful design, Gerd Sommerlade was inspired by classical designs from around 1800. The tableware ensemble gets its modern appeal from the play of shapes without flags.
